Monsoon Alert

New Delhi: Due to the sluggish pace of the southwest monsoon, rainfall levels in Uttar Pradesh have been significantly low so far. Although the monsoon has arrived in the state, there are still many areas where people are eagerly awaiting rain. Intense sunshine and scorching heat have left people drenched in sweat.

A low-pressure system over Bengal and Odisha has intensified into a ‘deep depression’ and is moving towards North India. Its impact will be felt in Uttar Pradesh today, with heavy rainfall likely in several parts of the state. People are advised to exercise caution given the adverse weather conditions. You can check the weather forecast for specific areas below.

Monsoon Gaining Momentum in Uttar Pradesh

According to the Meteorological Department, a shift in the low-pressure system over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent parts of Odisha is expected to trigger a spell of rain across various parts of UP. Heavy rainfall is predicted for several areas of the Purvanchal region over the next four days, up to July 10.

Rainy conditions are likely to persist on July 11 and 12 as well. Due to the heavy rainfall, temperatures across the state could drop by 5 to 7 degrees Celsius over the next 24 hours. You can check the list of districts expected to experience rain accompanied by strong winds below.
