Tata Motors has given a fresh look at the upcoming Tata Punch HBX by releasing a new teaser on its official website and social media platforms. The latest teaser suggests that the rugged version of the popular Punch could be launched in India in the coming weeks. Although the company has not yet revealed its launch date or booking details, the repeated teasers indicate that an official announcement may not be far away. Designed with an adventure-focused theme, the Punch HBX is expected to feature a tougher exterior, off-road-inspired styling, and practical upgrades. Here’s everything we know so far about its design, features, and engine.
Tata Motors first showcased the Punch HBX at the beginning of 2026 as a special adventure edition of the Punch facelift. Instead of making major mechanical changes, the company has focused on giving the SUV a more rugged, sporty, and adventure-ready design to attract buyers looking for a bolder appearance.
Tata Punch HBX
The Tata Punch HBX is expected to stand out with its rugged, adventure-ready styling. It will feature all-terrain tyres mounted on 16-inch black dual-tone alloy wheels, making it better suited for rough roads and light off-road driving. The SUV also gets chunky front and rear bumpers with armour-style skid plates for added protection and a tougher look. Other exterior highlights include black body cladding, a black roof, black ORVMs, silver accents on the bumpers, and a rear spoiler. To enhance its adventure appeal, Tata has also equipped the Punch HBX with a roof carrier for carrying extra luggage during trips.

Interior and Design
The interior of the Tata Punch HBX is expected to remain largely unchanged from the standard Punch. The cabin layout and overall design will be familiar to existing buyers. In terms of features, the SUV is likely to offer the same equipment available in the top-spec Punch variant, with no additional features expected.
The Tata Punch HBX is expected to be powered by Tata Motors’ 1.2-litre iTurbo petrol engine, offering a noticeable performance upgrade over the standard Punch. This turbocharged engine produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of peak torque, delivering stronger acceleration and a more engaging driving experience. It is designed to offer better performance both in city traffic and on highways. Power will be sent to the wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox, giving drivers smoother gear shifts and greater control. The upgraded powertrain also complements the SUV’s rugged, adventure-focused character.
