Mahavatara Narasimha: Filmmaker Ashvin Kumar says faith is a universal language

Mahavatar Narsimha filmmaker Ashwin Kumar believes his blockbuster mythical animated movie “is not a religious picture” but “an interreligious faith film.”

The animated mythological movie Mahavatar Narsimha, directed by Ashwin Kumar, has become an unexpected success. In just 17 days, the movie has already brought in over Rs 145 crore at the domestic box office.

The filmmaker emphasized that the target audience for Mahavatar Narsimha is not exclusively religious. “This movie isn’t religious. It’s a faith-based interfaith movie. Love is a universal feeling because of this. Faith is the same. As a result, the movie is expanding rapidly,” Kumar continued.

Following “Saiyaara,” “Mahavatar Narasimha,” an animated film directed by Ashwin Kumar, shocked everyone with its box office performance. Additionally, people from all walks of life are enjoying this movie despite the fact that it is based on a mythological tale. In particular, members of the Muslim community.

Narrative and idea

The movie tells the story of Hirankashyap, a despotic ruler who was given almost unbeatable powers by Lord Brahma. In order to save his own son Prahlada, who is a devoted devotee of Lord Vishnu, the god takes on the shape of Narsimha, who is half lion and half man.

The first installment of the upcoming Mahavatar series, which will feature all 10 of Vishnu’s avatars, is Mahavatar Narsimha.

Constructing the cosmos of Mahavatar

Hombale Films, the production company behind Kantara and the KGF series, and Kleem Productions, headed by Shilpa Dhawan, Kumar’s wife, are working together on the project.

Hombale Films supported the entire series from the beginning, Dhawan disclosed. “Hombale Films promptly agreed to work on all of the Mahavatar Universe’s films when we initially contacted them. Their goal was to support the universe as a whole. We had the confidence to reveal all the films before the first was even out because of that type of belief.
