Yamaha Motor Inidan has recalled more than 3 lakh scooters. The company shared this information on Friday and said the step was taken to fix a problem in a brake part. Under this recall, Yamaha will call back 3,06,635 units of its RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid Scooters. The company clarified that this recall is only for improving safety. Yamaha also announced that the faulty brake part in all affected scooters will be replaced free of cost. this move has been taken to ensure that customer can continue using their scooters safely and without any risk.
Voluntary Recall campaign by Yamaha
According to the company’s statement this voluntary recall campaign has been started for 125cc scooter models that were manufactured between 2 may 2024 and 3 september 2025. Yamaha said the main purpose of this recall is to ensure rider safety . In some operating condition, the front brake caliper may not work properly. This issue has been found in a few units of the RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid scooters. To avoid any safety risk, the company has decided to inspect the affected vehicles and fix the problem. Yamaha has assured customers that the issue will be resolved smoothly so that scooter performance and braking efficiency remain safe and reliable.
Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid Scooter is priced at Rs.74,3500 ex-showroom in Delhi. It is available in two variants- RayZR Drum and RayZR Disc. The scooter comes with a 125cc air cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 8.2 PS at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque to 10.3 nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine works with SMG technology which helps charge the onboard battery. Riders can also connect the scooter with the Y-Connect mobile app to check trip distance, battery voltage, average speed, last parked location and malfunction alerts.
