Waterlogging on roads is a persistent issue due to the rainfall. Torrential rains in the hilly regions of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir are also triggering landslides.
Continuous rainfall in the hilly areas has caused river water levels to rise significantly; some rivers are flowing at the danger mark, raising the threat of floods in several regions. Rain has also disrupted the pace of life in the northeastern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for several states across the country. Likelihood of Heavy Rain in 24 States
According to the India Meteorological Department, a heavy rainfall warning has been issued for September 6 across 24 states, including UP, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh.
Heavy rain is also predicted for Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. Storm warnings have also been issued for these areas, with the IMD predicting wind speeds of up to 80 km/h.
Heavy Rain Expected in Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, inclement weather is expected in Delhi on September 6. The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rain and storms in the capital for tomorrow, September 6. Strong winds blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 km/h are anticipated. Tomorrow, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 29°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to settle at 24°C.
Heavy Rain Expected in UP
Heavy rainfall is expected across Uttar Pradesh on September 6. The IMD has forecast heavy rain for Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Bijnor, and Badaun. Conditions are also favourable for heavy rainfall in Pilibhit, Sitapur, Kanpur, Bahraich, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Raebareli, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, and Mahamaya Nagar. Additionally, warnings for heavy rain have been issued for Unnao, Etawah, Hamirpur, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, and Deoria; heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and squalls is likely in these areas.
Heavy Rain Warning for Bihar
The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Gaya, Patna, Jehanabad, Bhojpur, Gopalganj, Rohtas, Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, and Darbhanga. Furthermore, warnings for heavy rain have been issued for Madhubani, Saharsa, Supaul, Purnia, Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, and Bhagalpur.
Alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for Munger, Khagaria, Begusarai, and Lakhisarai. In Patna, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 32 degrees Celsius tomorrow, September 6.
