After a big victory in the Delhi elections, the BJP is now focused on selecting a Chief Minister. At the same time, the party is also considering appointing two Deputy cm Chief Ministers, like in some other states. This move is part of a plan to represent Delhi as a “Mini India.” The idea is to ensure better representation of different communities in the new cabinet. The BJP believes that having two Deputy CMs could help in effective governance and maintaining regional balance. The final decision is yet to be made, but discussions on this proposal are actively taking place.
Some BJP leaders believe that having two Deputy Chief Ministers in the Delhi government will help the party include MLAs from different castes, communities, and regional backgrounds. According to them, this is highly possible, as the same approach has been followed in several other states. In BJP-ruled states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, two Deputy Chief Ministers have been appointed to ensure better representation of diverse leaders.
BJP Legislative Meeting Likely on Sunday
Party leaders have said that this proposal is under review by the central leadership, which will make the final decision. Along with this, the names of the Chief Minister and other ministers will also be decided. Once Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his foreign tour this weekend, the process of forming the Delhi government is expected to speed up. BJP sources have indicated that a legislative meeting is likely to be held on Sunday to elect the leader of the house, who will be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. This meeting will play a crucial role in finalizing key appointments and shaping the future leadership of the new government in the capital.
These Leaders Are in the Race for Chief Minister
Several BJP MLAs are being considered for the Chief Minister’s post. Among them is Parvesh Verma, who defeated AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi seat. Other prominent names include former Delhi BJP chiefs Vijender Gupta and Satish Upadhyay, along with senior leaders Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Pawan Sharma, Ashish Sood, Rekha Gupta, and Shikha Rai. Additionally, party leaders have mentioned newly elected MLAs Karnail Singh and Raj Kumar Bhatia as potential contenders. The final decision will be made by the party leadership after discussions and consultations with senior members.
