Therefore it is said that evil lost and good won, due to which Prahlad came out safely from the burning fire by the grace of Lord Vishnu and Holika was burnt to ashes, that is why this festival is celebrated as a symbol of victory of good over evil.

Holi 2025, is on March 14. Holika Dahan is performed a day before this which is on the full moon date of the Shukla Paksha of Falgun month, so this year Holika Tithi will start from 10:35 am on Thursday, March 13 and on the second day of this day, Shukla Paksha of Falgun month or it will last till 12:23 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Holika Dahan auspicious time
Holika Dahan takes place 1 day before Holi 2025, whose auspicious time will be on March 13 from 11:26 pm to 12:30 pm, burning Holika at this time brings special benefits and all negative powers are destroyed.
Holika Dahan Pujan Vidhi
- To perform worship in Holika Dahan, purify the place where Holika is to be burnt with Ganga water.
- Sit near Holika facing east or north, now gather girls to make Holika and prepare Holika.
- Now wrap raw thread around it three times or seven times.
- After this make idols of Holika and Prahlad from cow dung and place them on a plate.
- After this worship with fruits, flowers, roli, coconut, turmeric, raw thread, etc.
- Meditate on Lord Vishnu and Lord Narasimha and offer fruits and flowers to the God.
- After this circumambulate Holika seven times and finally complete the worship by adding gulal and Ganga water.
