Weather Today in India
India is witnessing diverse weather conditions today. While some regions are experiencing heavy rainfall and flood-like situations, others are covered in thick clouds, with a possibility of showers later in the day. From the northern plains to the coastal belts, the country is under the influence of an active monsoon system.

Rainfall Continues in NCR, Dry in Delhi
On the first day of the month, Delhi woke up to dry skies. However, its neighboring cities Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, and Meerut saw continuous rainfall through the night. Several low-lying areas in these regions reported waterlogging, causing traffic delays during the early morning commute.
Despite the cloudy skies over Delhi, rainfall was limited to surrounding areas. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a chance of scattered showers in the capital later in the day. Residents are advised to keep umbrellas handy as the weather remains unpredictable.
Flood Alerts in Eastern and Northeastern States
Heavy to very heavy rainfall has been recorded in parts of Bihar, Assam, and West Bengal. Several rivers in these regions are flowing near or above the danger mark. Authorities have issued flood warnings and are monitoring the situation closely. Rescue teams are on standby in flood prone districts.

Western India Sees Cloud Cover and Mild Showers
In Assam, continuous rains have led to rising water levels in the Brahmaputra and its tributaries. Villages near riverbanks have been alerted, and evacuation plans are in place. West Bengal’s northern districts, including Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar, are also on high alert due to intense rainfall activity.

Parts of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra are under cloud cover today, with intermittent light to moderate showers in some areas. Mumbai experienced a brief spell of rain early in the morning, offering some relief from the humid weather. Pune and Nashik are also likely to see light rain later today.
Rajasthan’s eastern districts, including Kota and Jaipur, are witnessing cloudy skies with the possibility of rainfall in the next 24 hours. However, no major weather warnings have been issued for western India.
Southern India Remains Stable with Isolated Rain
Southern states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala are currently seeing mild weather with isolated showers. Bengaluru and Chennai may see occasional rain during the evening. The coastal areas of Kerala are under a yellow alert due to forecasted heavy rainfall in some districts.
Monsoon Forecast and Safety Advisory
The monsoon is expected to remain active over central and eastern India for the next few days. IMD has advised people in flood prone and landslide prone areas to stay alert. Commuters are encouraged to check local weather updates and plan their travel accordingly.
India’s weather continues to show contrasting patterns while some regions are drenched in rain, others are under cloudy but dry skies. As the monsoon advances, more regions may see changing weather conditions. Stay informed and stay safe.
