Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made his first public statement after the new law on waqf was passed. speaking at the rising india summit 2025, he said that the new law made about waqf, will definitely protect the sacred spirit of waqf. he also added in his statement that this step has been taken to ensure that the original purpose and values of waqf are respected and preserved. according to the prime minister the new law will help prevent misuse of the waqf properties and bring more transparency in their management. he also said that the biggest benefit of this law will go to poor muslims, who will now have better access to the facilities and services meant for them.
New Waqf Law Was Important
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also assured all the people that government is committed to the development and welfare of all communities. his statement is being seen as a major step towards building trust an improving the management of religious and charitable properties. this was pm modi’s first reaction after the law came into effect. PM Modi called the new waqf law a big step towards social justice, he said the law will help protect the rights of poor pasmanda muslims, women and children. according to him, the new law will also ensure that the sacred spirit of waqf if preserved. pm modi also spoke strongly against the politics of appeasement.
He said that the country has suffered because of such politics for any years. he questioned why only india had to face the condition of partition at the time of Independence. while many other countries became free without it. he said, this happened on that time because of the hunger of power, the desire of power became more important than the national interest. PM Modi added that the partition was not the decision of the all muslims of the country. but it was the extremist thinking supported by the congress party. In his speech it was clearly remarked that it is very important to move away the old political practices and focus on the inclusive growth.
