Uproar in Parliament Over Home Minister, Sanjay Raut Now Demands Amit Shah’s Resignation

Sanjay Raut

New Delhi: On the 10th day of the Monsoon Session, the Opposition fiercely targeted the government over the lathi-charge against protesters. In the Rajya Sabha, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge held Home Minister Amit Shah directly responsible for the lathi-charge and the use of pellet guns. Meanwhile, a Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP also called for Amit Shah’s resignation.

During this time, Sanjay Raut praised Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, while criticising the NDA government. Rahul Gandhi had previously demanded Amit Shah’s resignation in the Lok Sabha as well. Raut remarked that the Home Minister should have resigned long ago.

Rahul Gandhi is voicing the nation’s sentiment: Sanjay Raut.

Amid the uproar in Parliament, Shiv Sena (UBT) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut stated that there was nothing wrong with Rahul Gandhi’s attack on Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that Rahul Gandhi is expressing the sentiment of the country. Amit Shah should have resigned much earlier. He asked who was responsible when the Pulwama attack occurred and 40 soldiers were killed by RDX.

“Our tourists were killed in Pahalgam. Whose responsibility is that? It is the Home Minister’s, isn’t it? Why do you shield him?” Raut further stated that the brutal attempt to suppress the protest by young people at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar involving the firing of bullets and pellet guns is fully recorded in the Parliament Street police station’s General Diary, a matter for which Amit Shah is responsible. He added that the resignation demanded by Rahul Gandhi is not just his demand, but the demand of the youth across the entire nation.

Demand for intervention by PM Narendra Modi

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut alleged that the government bears responsibility for the attempt to harm the young protesters. He argued that since the Opposition is demanding a resignation, the Prime Minister should intervene and secure Shah’s resignation. He remarked that Amit Shah’s conduct there was akin to that of General Dyer. The Rajya Sabha MP stated that demanding a resignation is a matter of supreme national duty and patriotic sentiment.

Passing the bill will achieve nothing.

Sanjay Raut remarked that passing a bill against paper leaks would yield no results. He claimed it would be ineffective because everyone involved in setting the exam papers belongs to the ‘Sangh’ (RSS). He further alleged that their people occupy the positions of Vice-Chancellors in all universities and are part of the paper-setting teams, which is precisely where the leaks originate.
