As per the Information, Important Changes are about to come from april 1 for the UPI Users on Google Pay, Phone Pay and Paytm. As recently, The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has directed banks to remove mobile numbers linked to UPI Accounts if they have been inactive for a very long time. Those who are not using their upi accounts may not be able to use them in future.

According to the notification, If your bank account is linked to an old or inactive mobile number, it will be delinked. For those, who do not want their UPI accounts to be closed. to avoid any trouble users should ensure that their bank account is linked with an active mobile number. As this may cause the problem when making the UPI Payments. to check or update your registered mobile number, visit your bank branch or use mobile banking services. Staying updated with these changes will help you to continue smooth UPI Transactions without any interruptions.

As per the reports, the cybercrimes and Online frauds are rapidly increasing. The National Payments Corporation of India has taken this major step to close all the upi accounts that are no longer in use. as per the NPCI inactive mobile numbers in the banking and upi system are causing technical issues. if telecom operators reassign these numbers to new users, there is a higher risk of fraud. The government aims to protect people and prevent such scams. it acts as an identity check to ensure that money is transferred to the correct person. If the number is inactive and reassigned to someone else, payments may fail or even go to the wrong account. NPCI Has decided to remove inactive numbers from the UPI systems. Users have to ensure that their accounts are linked with the correct number.
