Trust Meeting

New Delhi: Today is set to be a crucial day regarding the Ram Mandir donation theft case in Ayodhya. A meeting of the Shri Ram Mandir Teerth Kshetra Trust is scheduled for Monday, during which significant decisions may be taken. Following allegations of donation theft, Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and member Anil Mishra have submitted their resignations. It is expected that the resignations of both prominent figures will be accepted during today’s meeting.

According to sources, both individuals could be removed from the Trust. They had resigned from their posts on June 26. The SIT has arrested eight people in connection with the case so far. The team is expected to submit its report soon, which may implicate other prominent names.

Departure of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra Certain

The Shri Ram Mandir Trust meeting is scheduled for 3 PM on Monday at the Ram Mandir complex, and the entire nation is watching closely. Ahead of the meeting, the ruling party and the opposition are trading accusations. Through this meeting, the Trust intends to send a strong message by accepting the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra.

The allegations of theft regarding offerings and the subsequent surfacing of footage have raised serious questions about the Trust’s image and hurt the sentiments of Ram devotees. To restore the devotees’ faith, the Trust may take major decisions during today’s meeting. The departure of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra is considered a certainty.

Any decision taken by a two-thirds majority of the Trust members will be considered final and binding. Both office-bearers will also be given an opportunity to present their side during the meeting. Several allegations have been levelled against both members.

Questions Raised About Gopal Rao Too

The meeting of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir Teerth Kshetra is held every three months. Gopal Rao, who assists with construction, also participates in Trust meetings as an invitee. Gopal Rao, too, is currently under scrutiny. Given the circumstances, it seems highly unlikely that he will attend the trust meeting. However, confirmation regarding his attendance will only come on Monday. Apart from approving resignations, the meeting has other items on the agenda as well. A preliminary report from the SIT will be presented during the meeting. Additionally, the temple management will seriously deliberate on future arrangements.

Significance of the Trust Meeting

This is the first time the trust meeting is being held within the Ram Mandir complex; previous meetings took place at Maniram Das Chhavni. With all eyes on the meeting due to allegations of theft regarding temple offerings, the Ram Mandir complex was chosen as the venue to ensure confidentiality.

Meanwhile, Swami Govind Giri, Treasurer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, has appealed for an impartial investigation into the matter. He further stated that everyone should place their full trust in the SIT, the police, and the courts, adding that whoever is found guilty must be punished.
