The Haryana government has filed a case in the Sonipat court under the Disaster Management Act over Arvind Kejriwal’s statement about “poison in the Yamuna.” The court has issued a summons for Kejriwal to appear on February 17.

AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal seems to be in trouble again. After his statement about “poison in the Yamuna,” the Haryana government has taken a strong stand. The Haryana government has filed a case against Kejriwal in the Sonipat court under the Disaster Management Act. Following this, the Sonipat court has issued a summons for Kejriwal and ordered him to appear on February 17. The Haryana government’s argument is that Kejriwal’s statement could have caused panic, and therefore, the Election Commission should ban his campaigning.

Kejriwal Submits Reply to Election Commission

After receiving a complaint, the Election Commission had asked Kejriwal to submit a response regarding his statement. In his reply, the AAP leader submitted a 14-page response, stating that his statement was based on facts and that he had not broken any laws. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi claimed that lying is Kejriwal’s habit. The Congress leader pointed out that in 10 years, Kejriwal’s government had not cleaned the Yamuna. He challenged Kejriwal to fulfill his promise by dipping into the Yamuna if he had the courage.

CM Saini Takes Water from Yamuna

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini responded to Kejriwal’s allegations of poisoning the Yamuna water in a unique way. On Wednesday, he visited the Yamuna river at ‘Point Number-4’ near Dahisra village, on the Delhi-Haryana border, and performed a ritual before drinking the water. Afterward, Saini said that the poison is not in the sacred river but in the minds of the opposition. He further added, “Arvind Kejriwal is engaging in politics of lies. His statement about ‘poisoning the Yamuna’ is unfortunate. Kejriwal should apologize for making such an unfortunate statement.”

Kejriwal Calls Saini’s Ritual a Fake Display

When pictures of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini performing the ritual of drinking Yamuna water surfaced, Kejriwal took to Twitter and called it a fake display. Kejriwal stated that the truth is Saini didn’t actually drink the water; he only kept it in his mouth and then spit it back into the river. The former Delhi Chief Minister wrote that if the Haryana government wants to file a case against him, they can, but he would never allow the poisonous water, which Saini himself couldn’t drink, to be given to the people of Delhi under any circumstances.
