According to the Reports, Tata Motors is all set to bring back one of its most iconic SUVs, the Sierra, in a brand-new form. The company has already showcased the ICE version, and now the much-awaited Tata Sierra EV is ready for its official launch in India on June 30. The electric SUV will be positioned below the Harrier EV in Tata’s lineup. Combining the Sierra’s classic appeal with modern styling and advanced technology, the upcoming EV is expected to attract both old fans and new buyers. Here’s a closer look at the Tata Sierra EV’s design, features, and expected driving range.

What can customers expect in the design?

Tata Motors recently released a new teaser of the upcoming Sierra EV, giving buyers their first clear look at the production-ready model that will be sold in showrooms. The front design features a modern and premium appearance with a full-width LED daytime running light stretching across the vehicle’s width. The main LED headlamps are positioned lower on the bumper, creating a sleek and futuristic look. As an electric vehicle, the Sierra EV does not require a traditional grille like petrol or diesel cars. Instead, it gets a clean, closed-off front panel that enhances its modern EV styling. At the same time, Tata has retained the SUV’s iconic and muscular character. The clamshell-style bonnet and upright stance give the Sierra EV a strong road presence and a rugged SUV feel, blending classic Sierra design elements with contemporary electric vehicle technology.

Battery Speed and Performance

Tata Motors has not yet revealed the official battery and motor specifications of the Sierra EV, but several key details are expected ahead of its launch. The electric SUV is likely to be offered with large 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs, similar to those available in the Harrier EV. Tata may also offer the Sierra EV in both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) configurations. The AWD version, equipped with dual motors, is expected to provide better traction and improved performance on rough roads and off-road trails. In terms of range, the Sierra EV is expected to travel more than 500 km on a single full charge, making it suitable for both city commutes and long-distance journeys. The SUV is also likely to support DC fast charging and bi-directional charging technology, allowing users to power external devices and even household appliances using the vehicle’s battery.
