The debate over Waqf Amendment Bill continued in Parliament on wednesday, where this bill was introduced by the central government. Union Minister Kiren Rijiju presented the Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha, where leaders from various parties discussed its provisions. several opposition arties and muslim organizations are strongly opposing the bill. however, given the government’s majority in both houses of parliament, it is expected to pass easily in the lok sabha and rajya sabha. Amid the ongoing debates in the parliament the police administration in uttar pradesh has gone on high alert security has been tightened in Muzzaffarnagar to prevent any unrest. in sambhal, police conducted a flag march to maintain law and order. authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the peace in the area.

In Uttar Pradesh’s sambhal district. a flag march was conducted under the ;leadership of the SSP additional superintendent of police asp shreesh chandra informed that the march covered areas under the sambhal and naksha police stations. he assured that the situation remains peaceful and that the police are fully alert. authorities are closely monitoring social media posts to prevent misinformation for unrest. he also mentioned that drones are being used for surveillance to ensure the security in the region.
According to the reports, The waqf board holds the largest amount of land in India after the ministry of defence and Indian railways. As per the government the aim to amend this bill to bring out the clarity and the transparency. Reports suggest that waqf board owns 8,65,644 immovable properties that covering approximately 9.4 lakh acres of land. the estimated value of these properties is around 1.2 lakh crore.
