Many think dharma means only following rules and rituals. while discipline is necessary for ordinary people to practice dharma, rituals alone do not define it. he explained that in indian tradition, a framework of four core values has been laid out. whatever falls within this framework is dharma, whether it is part of tradition or not. what falls outside this is adharma, even if it follows tradition. these four values are truth, compassion, purity and self discipline.
