New Delhi: Political parties and social organisations are persistently demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ (SIR) process. Non-NDA political parties have launched a campaign against Gyanesh Kumar, and in this context, the Congress party has announced a ‘mega-rally.’

The Congress is set to hold a mega-rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1, 2026, with preparations already underway. Rahul Gandhi, a senior Congress leader who also serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has issued a significant statement regarding the event, urging students, farmers, and citizens from across the country to travel to Delhi.

Meanwhile, in a post on the social media platform X on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the BJP while ostensibly thanking them, noting that the BJP’s actions have effectively helped promote the event.

Rahul Gandhi thanks the BJP.

In his post on X, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated, “Our votes are being stolen, and we will not remain silent or tolerate this under any circumstances. Names have been struck off the electoral rolls, rules and laws have been violated, and those who dared to ask questions were met with batons. Now, the nation will provide an answer.”

“November :1: Let’s go to Delhi! ‘Save Your Vote, Save the Nation’ is a public march and mega-rally.” He further appealed to students, farmers, labourers, women, the youth, and the business community anyone concerned about the state of democracy to attend.

“The vote is yours; the fight is also yours. A heartfelt thank you to the BJP and its allies for promoting this event so vigorously and ensuring it reaches as many people as possible. Just keep this same energy and dedication going for the next seven days!

Congress aims to make the rally historic.

The Congress party and the INDIA alliance are set to hold a rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan on November 1. The opposition has been consistently opposing Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Rahul Gandhi has accused the BJP of stealing votes. Significantly, the Congress has fully geared up for its November 1st rally, having tasked its top leaders with the objective of mobilising a crowd.

Congress continues its offensive.

It should be noted that the Congress has been consistently targeting both the BJP and the Election Commission over the ‘special intensive revision’ [of the electoral rolls]. The Congress has accused the BJP-led government of ‘stealing’ the election. The party’s objective is to ensure transparency in the electoral process.
