According to the recent reports, Leader of the opposition in the lok sabha and former congress president Rahul Gandhi has admitted that he did not support the OBC Other backward caste community the way he should have speaking at the congress’s Bhagidari nyay sammelan,he accepted his mistake and said he now wants to correct it. He also said that if he had understood earlier, he would have conducted a caste census back in 2004.

The congress “Bhagidari Nyaya sammelan was held in delhi on Friday 25th of July. During the event, Rahul Gandhi said, “I have been in politics since the year of 2004. When I look back, i feel I made a mistake. I did not support the OBCs in the way I should have. This happened because I did not fully understand your issues at that time. I regret that. If I had even a little knowledge about your OBC History an problems, I would have conducted a caste census back then. That was my mistake, it is my mistake and not of the congress party. And now, I want to correct my mistake.

Rahul Gandhi’s Statement for Caste Census
Rahul Gandhi called the OBC Community the “productive force” of the country and said his goal is to give respect he recognition to this strength of india. Referring to data from the caste census conducted in telangana, Rahul said, “according to he data no OBC, Dalit or Adivasi has received corporate packages worth crores. They are only seen standing in lines for MGNREGA work. He highlighted how these communities, despite forming a large part of the workforce, are still struggling for basic opportunities and dignity. Rahul Gandhi added that his aim is to uplift these people and ensure they get the respect what they deserve In the society. Also he emphasized that without empowering this productive class, the country cannot move forward. Through caste census and fair participation, he said he wants to bring justice to these communities and correct the historical neglect they faced. he has supported the demand for a caste census and raised OBC Issues. he earlier said the congress ignored the OBC community, but now he has taken personal responsibility for it. he also spoke in parliament about the caste census, and congress took the credit when the centre agreed to include caste data.
