Recently, Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis visit on the preparations for the 2027 Nashik Kumbh Mela. where the preparations have picked up the pace, but however a dispute has emerged over the name of the grand religious gathering. during the cm’s visit representatives of the reimbekeshwar-nashik simhastha kumbh mela. they argued that trimbakeshwar, being a significant pilgrimage site, should be included in the name. According to the details, in the recent meetings at the nashk municipal corporatin headquaters, nashik akhara leaders insisted that the event should be named only “nashik kumbh mela”. this disagreement has led to discussions among the religious leaders and officials, as the final decision on the name remains pending.

Nashik Mahakumbh Mela
As per the reports suggests, the nashik kumbha mela is expected to take place between july 14 and september 25, 2027. whrere this mela is going to organize on the banks of godavari river. held every 12 years, the vent will see massive participation from devotees and the saints. After mahakumbh mela in prayagraj, this nashik kumbh is also going to be very historic and magical. earlier in the day, maharashtra’s water resources and disaster management minister, Girish Mahajan, visited the Trimbakeshwar to review the preparations. he assured that the state government is positive about addressing the various demands of saints and mahants. the review meeting, chaired by mahajan included divisional commissioner praveen gedam, district collector jalaj sharma and several other prominent akhara leaders.
According to the reports, Akhara representatives suggested the building new ghats along the narmada river, especially in the congested kushavarta area of trimbekaeshwar. they also demanded the construction of new water tanks and some better facilities. mahajan gave in-principle approval for these developments, marking a significant step in the preparations for the grand religIous gathering.
