Both of Premanand Maharaj’s kidneys have failed, and he has been battling kidney disease for many years. He has been suffering from polycystic kidney disease since 2006, which has been worsening. He has been on dialysis for several days, and his health has been deteriorating. He has been unable to go on night padayatras for several days now, but his devotees still await his night padayatras and lay flowers on the paths.
A recent video of Premanand Maharaj is going viral in which his face is seen to be very swollen and his eyes have turned red, which shows that Premanand Maharaj is not well, this is becoming a cause of great concern for his fans and followers. Recently, Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav reached to meet him, when he asked Maharaj about his health, he replied, “No matter how much you take care of the body, everyone has to go, both my kidneys have failed but still, by the grace of God, I am able to meet you people, I am able to talk to you and everyone has to go”.
Premanand Maharaj has stopped his padayatra from 2nd October 2025 due to health problems. This information was given by Kelly Kunj Ashram and by issuing a statement it was told that due to the ill health of Premanand Maharaj Ji, his padayatra has been stopped indefinitely and he appealed to all the devotees not to stay awake at night and wait for Premanand Ji’s yatra, because his health is bad and he is resting and is being treated by the doctor and at this time he is meeting only a few followers.
Premanand Maharaj is suffering from Polycystic Kidney Disease. He first came to know about it in 2006, when he felt pain in his stomach and went for treatment, then he came to know that his kidney was damaged. After this he came to Vrindavan and immersed himself in the devotion of Shri Krishna and Shri Radha in Vrindavan. Due to kidney disease, he has to undergo dialysis regularly. Earlier, he was being given dialysis for 7 days in a week but now it has been reduced to 5 days.
For the treatment of Premanand Maharaj’s kidney, a high-tech dialysis room has been built at his residence where he is regularly dialyzed because due to kidney failure he requires continuous dialysis. This dialysis room has a water system and trained technicians where his dialysis is done.
What is Polycystic Kidney Disease? Polycystic kidney disease is a kidney related disease in which small water cysts start forming inside the kidney and gradually these cysts start growing bigger due to which the size of the kidney also becomes very big and the kidney’s ability to function gets affected and it is not able to clean the blood and as time passes this disease starts taking a serious form and the person starts having pain in the side of the stomach or waist. The main symptoms of this disease are stomach and waist pain and bleeding in the patient’s urine, apart from this urine infection also occurs again and again, after all these problems the kidney fails.
