New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing protests by youth at Jantar Mantar for nearly a month regarding the NEET exam leak issue, PM Narendra Modi has made a significant announcement concerning paper leak cases. He stated that fast-track courts would be established to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those found guilty in paper leak incidents.
He has also directed the concerned departments to take necessary steps in this regard. PM Modi emphasised that the welfare and future of the country’s youth are top priorities for the government. He shared this information via a post on the social media platform X.
Hearings to be held in fast-track courts – PM Modi
Writing on X, PM Modi stated that nothing is more important than the welfare and future of the youth. Keeping this in mind, the government has decided to set up fast-track courts to hear cases related to paper leaks. The objective of these courts is to ensure that the guilty receive prompt and severe punishment.
This step is being taken to prevent delays in the resolution of such cases. PM Modi further informed that he has issued necessary instructions to officials and departments, directing them to take all requisite actions to implement this decision. The Prime Minister described this as part of a series of measures being taken by the government in the interest of students, noting that it is a crucial component of the government’s ongoing efforts to safeguard students’ interests.
Those playing with the youth’s future will not be spared
PM Modi issued a stern warning, stating that those who attempt to jeopardise the future of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. He reiterated that the welfare and future of the country’s youth remain the government’s highest priority.
He added that the fast-track courts are intended to ensure the swiftest possible delivery of strict punishment to the guilty in all paper leak cases. This announcement by PM Modi on social media is being viewed as a source of relief for students and aspirants. Incidents of paper leaks continue to be a cause for concern among the youth.
CJP’s ongoing protest
Members of the ‘Cockroach Janta Party’ (CJP) have been continuously agitating across the country, including at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, over the issue of paper leaks. The CJP demands the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
In support of this demand, educationist and social activist Sonam Wangchuk had been observing a fast at Jantar Mantar. Citing his deteriorating health, the Delhi Police removed him from the site and admitted him to Safdarjung Hospital. Following this, CJP founder Abhijit Deep embarked on a hunger strike.
