Consequently, petrol and diesel prices could also rise. As of early Sunday morning, there have been no changes to petrol and diesel prices; rates remain stable. If you plan to refuel your vehicle, it is advisable to check the city-specific rates beforehand to avoid any confusion.
Check petrol and diesel prices in these major cities
In the national capital, New Delhi, the price of petrol stands at ₹102.12 per litre, while the diesel rate is ₹95.20 per litre. In Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, petrol is priced at ₹113.51 per litre, and diesel is at ₹99.82 per litre.
In Mumbai, the financial capital, petrol is priced at ₹111.21 per litre, while diesel is at ₹97.83 per litre. In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, petrol is priced at ₹107.77 per litre, and diesel is at ₹99.55 per litre. In Gurugram, adjacent to Delhi, petrol is priced at ₹102.97 per litre, and diesel is at ₹95.64 per litre. In Noida (Delhi-NCR), petrol is priced at ₹102.12 per litre, while diesel is at ₹95.56 per litre.

Rates released daily
For reference, Indian oil marketing companies revise and release petrol and diesel prices daily at 6 AM. These companies calculate and announce the rates based on factors such as global crude oil prices and domestic taxes. When tensions flared up in the Middle East, crude oil supplies from the Strait of Hormuz were significantly disrupted. This caused crude oil prices to rise in the international market, subsequently leading to a hike in petrol and diesel prices in India as well.
