New Delhi: The UP government and opposition political parties are at loggerheads over the alleged theft of offerings at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. A fierce war of words is playing out between UP CM Yogi Adityanath and former CM Akhilesh Yadav. On Tuesday, CM Yogi Adityanath once again launched a scathing attack on the SP and Congress.

Addressing a public meeting in Pratapgarh, he targeted the SP and Congress over the Ram Temple offering theft case. The CM stated that leaders from the SP and Congress are playing with the faith of the Hindu masses in this matter. He remarked that these are the very people who had previously dismissed Ram and Krishna as imaginary figures. He also took the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) to task during his address.

SP-Congress had called the deities imaginary: Yogi.

Criticising the SP and BSP, CM Yogi Adityanath said that those who once labelled Ram and Krishna as imaginary are now championing Hindu interests as elections approach. He further added that these people remain silent when thousands of acres of land are encroached upon in the name of the Waqf Board, depriving the poor of their rights; he questioned why they never speak up on this issue.

Additionally, CM Yogi referred to the theft of offerings as an “alleged” incident. He remarked that opposition parties have surpassed even chameleons in changing colours for electoral gain. He stated that an SIT is investigating the Ram Temple theft case, and the truth will be fully revealed. Action is being taken swiftly against those for whom evidence of theft is emerging; no guilty person will be spared.

CM heaps praise on Aonl.a

In his speech, which lasted approximately 37 minutes, Yogi Adityanath fiercely targeted the opposition parties. He further remarked that before 2017, a ‘mafia raj’ (rule of the mafia) prevailed in UP, adding that the Saifai clan used to monopolise jobs.

He spoke highly of the Aonla (Indian gooseberry) from Pratapgarh, describing it as a powerful means of achieving self-reliance. Local public representatives, including Mayankeshwar Sharan Singh the Minister of State for Family Welfare and Parliamentary Affairs and the minister in charge of Pratapgarh, were also present on the dais. Yogi Adityanath spent approximately an hour and a half in Pratapgarh.
