Old Age Pension Scheme Delhi : In Delhi, the government is running an old age pension scheme for the elderly, in which financial assistance is given to the elderly aged 60 years or above. From September 17, along with higher pension to the elderly, names of 50,000 new beneficiaries will be added.

Old Age Pension Scheme Delhi: Keeping in mind the interests of the elderly, the Delhi government is running the Old Age Pension Scheme in which financial assistance is given to the elderly every month. Now the elderly will not need to worry about their livelihood, because the government will provide them financial assistance, due to which they will be able to fulfill their small daily needs and they will not have to depend on anyone. Now the names of 50,000 new beneficiaries will also be added to this scheme on 17 September 2025, for which the process of enrollment will be started from today.
50,000 new names will be added
Now 50,000 more pensioners’ names will be added to the Old Age Pension Scheme Delhi. 17th September is PM Modi’s birthday, on this occasion, it has been decided by the Delhi government that maximum number of elderly people will be included in this scheme, so that they do not have to depend on anyone to fulfill their needs and they can get financial assistance from the government, for this the process of enrollment will be started on 17th September by the Social Welfare Department at Indira Gandhi Stadium and enrollment of 50,000 elderly people will be taken.
Now more money will be given in the pension scheme
Now the elderly will get more pension in the Old Age Pension Scheme Delhi, their monthly pension will be increased by the government, due to which the elderly of 60 years or more than 70 years of age will get its benefit. Earlier, the elderly of 60 years or more used to get ₹ 2000 but now they will be given ₹ 2500, whereas the beneficiaries of 70 years or more were given ₹ 2500 as pension which has been increased to ₹ 3000.
Apart from this, the beneficiaries of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will also get ₹ 500 additional pension, that is, the monthly pension is being increased for the elderly of every category, the benefit of which will be given to the eligible elderly living in Delhi.
Who will get the benefit of Old Age Pension Scheme
To avail the benefit of Old Age Pension Scheme Delhi, the following eligibility criteria are necessary, let us know about them – The benefit of this scheme will be given to the citizens living in Delhi who have been living in Delhi for at least 5 years. To avail the benefit of this scheme, the age of the applicant should be 60 years or more. The residence of Delhi should be mentioned in the Aadhar card of the applicant. The income of the family of the applicant should not be more than Rs 1 lakh.
Those elderly people who have a bank account in any branch of Delhi and it is linked to the Aadhar card will get the benefit of this scheme. Those applicants who are not availing the benefit of any government or other pension scheme will be given its benefit.
