SIT Team: Notices have now been issued to 70 individuals in connection with the theft of offerings at the Ayodhya temple, and many face the prospect of facing consequences. On Wednesday, Tinnu Yadav and other accused persons are also being interrogated.
Investigation Progresses
The investigation into the theft of donations at the Ram Temple is moving forward rapidly. Police have served notices to around 70 individuals; this group includes people involved in the management of offerings, surveillance systems, staff recruitment, and banking operations. According to the police, the investigation is proceeding across multiple levels.

Questions Arise Regarding the Recovered Money
The police are actively gathering information to determine the source of the funds and the method of their collection. Sources reveal that Avinash was a resident of the Kaushalpuri area, where the other accused, Anukalp and Lavkus, also reside.
Authorities are examining the full details regarding the handling of donations and offerings at the Ram Mandir, specifically focusing on the amount of funds held by the State Bank of India (SBI). The police are investigating this angle to identify any lapses in the banking system and oversight mechanisms. Additionally, the preliminary investigation has raised serious questions about the role of bank employees; sources indicate that several staff members are now under police scrutiny. Reports suggest that a number of employees are being investigated.

Notices Issued
For context, notices have been served to more than 70 individuals associated with departments linked to the Ram Mandir Trust. All these individuals will be questioned. This step has been taken to gather comprehensive information regarding the management of offerings and financial transactions.
The police have also begun examining the cash and documents recovered from the homes of the accused. Meanwhile, according to information from the Trust, the police are currently verifying the facts of the investigation.
Akhilesh Yadav raised the issue. Former UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav raised the issue of the theft of offerings from the Ram Mandir. The opposition gaining the Ram Mandir theft issue ahead of the elections poses significant questions for the BJP. Champat Rai, who is associated with the trust, has also tendered his resignation in connection with this matter. Akhilesh Yadav had alleged that the SIT is making every effort to shield the “big fish.”
The SIT investigation is likely to reveal more significant revelations. The SIT will soon submit its report to the state government.
Scrutiny on these employees, too
It is worth noting that bank employees are also expected to be questioned in connection with the case involving the theft of offerings from the Ram Mandir. Negligence in banking procedures may have compromised the security of the offerings; consequently, preparations are underway to question certain State Bank of India (SBI) employees. According to the police, all statements and documents are being subjected to detailed analysis. Based on this, a fresh application may be filed in court seeking permission to re-interrogate several accused individuals, including Tinnu.
