The government is implementing new traffic radar device rules from July 1, 2025. On Friday, the government has said that the rules related to mandatory verification and stamping of traffic will be implemented from July 1, 2025 to improve road safety and provisions. These traffic rules have been notified by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs after extensive consultation with stakeholders including the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology, Regional Reference Laboratories, manufacturers and vehicle certification organizations.
The rules will come into effect from July 1, 2025
The ministry issued a notification stating that these rules for traffic radar equipment will come into effect from July 1, 2025, so that industries and enforcement agencies get enough time to comply with the provisions. These new rules will be applicable to microwave Doppler radar equipment used to measure the speed of vehicles on the road under the Legal Metrology Rules 2011.
