New GST Rate List 2025, implemented on Monday, includes significant GST exemptions on everything from daily use items to ACs, refrigerators, and the auto sector. GST will now be implemented in two slabs instead of four.
New GST Rate List 2025: The new GST rates have come into effect from today, which will benefit people from all sections. After the implementation of the new rates, now two slabs will be effective in GST instead of four. Farmers, lower class people, businessmen, everyone will get its benefit. Now discounts are being given on many things including dal roti, packed food, auto sector, medicines, daily use items and bikes.
The Navratri season has also started due to which people have started shopping in large numbers. After the implementation of the new rates, now about 375 items will become cheaper and the rates of almost 99 percent of the items will now be reduced.

1. Daily use items now in 5% slab
In the New GST Rate List 2025, earlier 18% GST had to be paid on daily use items like soap, shampoo, oil, toothpaste etc. but now it has been kept in 5% slab, which means now the burden of household expenses will be reduced to a great extent.
2. TV, AC and fridge become cheaper
In the New GST Rate List 2025, you will now get TV, AC and fridge at lower prices, earlier 28% GST had to be paid on these but now only 18% GST will have to be paid on these.
3. Discount on insurance policies
In the New GST Rate List 2025, GST on life insurance and health insurance has been reduced to zero, which means that now you will not have to pay any tax on taking insurance. Now you will be able to protect yourself and your family by getting insurance. It is hoped that now people will be more inclined towards insurance.
4. Discount on clothes and shoes
In the New GST Rate List 2025, discount will be available on clothes and shoes as well. Earlier, you had to pay tax ranging from 12% to 18% on buying clothes and shoes, which has now been reduced to only 5%, which means that now you will be able to enjoy shopping to your heart’s content during festivals.
5. 18% GST now applicable in the auto sector
In the New GST Rate List 2025, huge discounts are going to be available in the auto sector as well. If you are thinking of buying a bike or a car, then this is a good opportunity for you. Earlier, 28% GST had to be paid on purchasing four-wheeler or two-wheeler vehicles, but now it has been reduced to 18%, that is, now if you buy small vehicles, you can get a discount of Rs 40-50 thousand and on buying big vehicles, you can get a discount of Rs 1 to 1.5 lakh.
