New Delhi: Inclement weather across the country is currently disrupting normal life. From the plains of North India to the mountains, heavy rainfall has brought the pace of daily life to a standstill. Significant rainfall in various parts of South India has led to a drop in temperatures, providing relief from the scorching heat. Several areas in Uttar Pradesh have been experiencing rain since the early hours of the morning.
Waterlogging in many localities is causing difficulties for commuters. Weather conditions remain adverse in Bihar and Jharkhand as well. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued heavy rainfall warnings for 23 states and has urged people to exercise caution due to the likelihood of lightning and thunderstorms.

Torrential Rain Alert for 23 States
The IMD has issued warnings for torrential rain across 23 states. According to the department, alerts for heavy rain accompanied by lightning have been issued for September 5 in states including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Uttarakhand. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha.
The Meteorological Department has also issued alerts for heavy rain and storms in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Kerala, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. The IMD has also predicted strong winds reaching speeds of up to 75 km/h in several areas.
Heavy Rain Warning for Delhi
According to the IMD, an alert for heavy rain and storms has been issued for New Delhi for September 5. Strong winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 35 km/h are expected during this period. The maximum temperature is likely to reach 26 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to settle around 24 degrees Celsius. Weather in UP
According to the Meteorological Department, a heavy rain warning has been issued for Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Moradabad, and Mathura. An alert for intense rainfall has been issued for Agra, Aligarh, Bijnor, Firozabad, Mahamaya Nagar, Etawah, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Raebareli, Hardoi, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, and Unnao. Alerts for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for Etawah, Hamirpur, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Ayodhya, Deoria, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj.

Alert for heavy rain in Bihar too
According to the Meteorological Department, there is a likelihood of intense rainfall in West Champaran, Siwan, Saran, Gopalganj, East Champaran, Gaya, and Jehanabad. Additionally, heavy rain is expected in Bhojpur, Patna, Buxar, Vaishali, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Supaul, Saharsa, and Purnia. The IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms in Araria, Kishanganj, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Munger, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, and Begusarai. Strong winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour are also expected.
