New Delhi: Monsoon rains are currently in full swing across most parts of the country. Intermittent rainfall continues, causing conditions to deteriorate further. Continuous rain in the mountainous regions is triggering landslides, which have blocked several routes and are causing significant travel disruptions.
Temperatures are dropping across most parts of South India due to persistent rainfall. The northeastern states are also facing the brunt of the rains. Rivers, streams, and ponds are overflowing due to the monsoon downpour. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain in 25 states. Details regarding the weather forecast for specific regions are provided below.

Likelihood of Heavy Rain in These States
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for 25 states. According to the IMD, alerts for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning have been issued for Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, West Bengal, Odisha, and Tamil Nadu.
Heavy downpours are also predicted for Puducherry, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur. During this period, there is also a possibility of lightning strikes and strong winds gusting up to 65 km/h in some areas.
Weather Forecast for Delhi
According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rainfall is likely in the national capital, Delhi, and surrounding areas. Rain may occur again by the afternoon, and the capital is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day.
Heavy Rain in Uttar Pradesh
The IMD has forecast heavy rain in several districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Gautam Buddha Nagar, Ayodhya, Agra, Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, and Lucknow. Showers accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms are also expected. A warning regarding lightning and storms has been issued for Lucknow. Weather Outlook for Bihar and Jharkhand
According to the IMD, heavy rainfall is expected in several parts of Bihar, including Ara, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Patna, Muzaffarpur, and Katihar; a storm alert has been issued for these areas. Meanwhile, several districts in Jharkhand are likely to experience heavy rain accompanied by storms and dusty winds reaching speeds of up to 55 km/h.

Rain Likely in Rajasthan Too
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for Rajasthan, predicting rainfall ranging from light to heavy in various locations, along with storms and wind speeds of 45–50 km/h. In West Bengal, the influence of a low-pressure area is likely to sustain a spell of heavy rain and strong winds blowing at 55–65 km/h.
