Delhi-NCR has been experiencing rainfall since morning, leading to waterlogging in several areas of the capital and its vicinity. Navigating the roads has become difficult, creating a challenging situation.

Strong winds have uprooted trees and toppled electricity poles in many places, disrupting the power supply. July 8 is shaping up to be a difficult day for several states, as forecasts predict heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms. You can find detailed weather updates for specific regions below.

Warning of Heavy Rain in 13 States

According to the Meteorological Department, an alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms has been issued for 13 states on July 8. The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh. Alerts for rain with thunderstorms have also been issued for Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, West Bengal, and Odisha. Additionally, warnings for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms have been issued for various parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Kerala. Strong wind gusts could further add to the difficulties faced by residents.

Heavy Rain Expected in Delhi

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain accompanied by storms in the national capital, Delhi, today (July 8). The IMD forecasts wind speeds reaching up to 80 km/h. The department expects the maximum temperature in Delhi to drop to 29°C and the minimum to 27°C today.

Weather Forecast for UP

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms is predicted for Mathura, Bulandshahr, Firozabad, Jhansi, and Mahoba. Spells of rain are also likely in Hamirpur, Lalitpur, Jalaun, and Aligarh. Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and squalls is also forecast for Kanpur, Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ayodhya, and Deoria. Wind speeds could reach up to 80 km/h during this period. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Lucknow is expected to reach 31°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to be around 28°C.

Weather in Bihar

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in several districts of Bihar. The IMD expects heavy rain in Patna, Gaya, Saran, Siwan, and Buxar. Additionally, heavy rain and storms are likely in Vaishali, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Munger, and Khagaria. An alert for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning has been issued for Araria, Kishanganj, Munger, and Begusarai, where wind speeds could reach 70 km/h. Consequently, temperatures across various regions of Bihar are expected to drop on July 8.

Weather in Jharkhand

According to the Meteorological Department, rain is expected in several parts of Jharkhand. A rainfall alert has been issued for Palamu, Garhwa, Ranchi, and Dumka. Rain is also likely in Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh, Deoghar, Latehar, Khunti, Seraikela, Ramgarh, Simdega, and Godda.
