Weather
The monsoon season has finally picked up pace across various parts of northern India. According to recent weather forecasts, Delhi NCR is expected to experience intense rainfall throughout the day today. With dark clouds already hovering over the region, residents are advised to brace for potential waterlogging and traffic disruptions.

Delhi-NCR Braces for a Rainy Day
Today’s weather in Delhi and its surrounding areas, including Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, will be dominated by overcast skies and heavy rain showers. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the region, warning of moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
The downpour is likely to bring a temporary relief from the humid conditions that had persisted for the past few days. However, the intense rain could also lead to water accumulation on roads, causing slow-moving traffic in busy city zones.
UP and Bihar to Witness Varied Conditions
Uttar Pradesh is also expected to receive rainfall, especially in its eastern and central parts. Cities like Varanasi, Gorakhpur, and Prayagraj may witness moderate showers with cloudy conditions prevailing throughout the day. In western UP, rainfall will be more scattered, with some areas experiencing brief spells of rain while others remain dry.
In Bihar, the monsoon is becoming increasingly active. Patna, Gaya, and Muzaffarpur are likely to receive good rainfall today. The IMD has predicted isolated heavy showers in certain districts, which could help improve the deficit rainfall in some parts of the state. Farmers, who have been waiting for consistent rains for crop sowing, may finally get some relief.

Weather in Other Parts of India Maharashtra
Mumbai and surrounding areas are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall. The monsoon here continues at a steady pace, providing much needed relief from the summer heat.
West Bengal and Northeast
Kolkata and northeastern states like Assam and Meghalaya will see heavy rainfall, which may cause localized flooding in low lying areas.
South India
Karnataka and Kerala will witness light to moderate rainfall, particularly along the coastal regions. Bengaluru is likely to remain mostly cloudy with intermittent rain.
Rajasthan and Gujarat
These western states will largely remain dry, though some southern districts of Rajasthan may see isolated showers.

Advisory for Residents
Authorities have advised residents, especially in Delhi NCR and parts of UP and Bihar, to stay indoors during peak rainfall hours. People are also requested to avoid driving in waterlogged areas and to check weather updates regularly for any alerts or warnings.
As the monsoon advances further, more regions are expected to receive widespread rainfall in the coming days. Stay tuned for the latest updates to plan your travel and daily activities accordingly.
