People in Delhi will soon have to spend more money, as the municipal corporation of delhi MCD is going to start charging fr garbage collection from homes. after the 7 years, mcd will begin collecting user charges under the solid waste management rules 2018. now, property owners in the capital will have to pay a monthly fee of rs.50 to rs.200. this move will directly affect their household budget. the decision has also sparked the political debate in delhi. As per the report this user charge will be collected along with the property tax. which might worry those who are already paying the property tax to the MCD. Simply put, whenever property owners in delhi pay their property tax, they will also have to pay the user charge for garbage collection, this change may be higher in residential areas.
Recently, residential property owners may have to pay between rs.600 and rs.2,400 per year along with the tax of the property. for commercial properties the charge could be between rs.6000 and rs.60,000 annually. through this user charge, the mcd expects to earn an additional rs.150 crore in revenue every year. Now most of the people must be wondering about how much will each property owner have to pay? as per the rules, for residential properties up to 50 spqaure meters is rs.50 per month. for the 50 to 200 square meters rs.100 per month. for properties above 200 square meter rs.200 per month. street vendors will also be charges rs.100 per month as a user fee.
For Commercial Properties
For the industrial and commercial properties, different user charges have been fixed based on the type of business or service. here’s a breakdown. shops and food outlets rs.500 per month. where for the guest houses and dharamsalas rs.2000 per month. For the hostels and restaurants this pay will be 2000 per month for up to 50 seats. For the restaurants with more than 50 seats will be 3000 per month. hotels pay for this will be 2000 per month. 3 star hotels will be paying the 3000 per month. hotels above the 3-star categories 5000 per month. banks and coaching centers it will be 2000 per month. Clinics and hospitals will be paying the charge of rs. 2000 per month. hospital with the 50 beds along with the labs will be paying 4000 per month. For the wedding and party halls, this pay will be 5000 per month.
