Along with this, Maruti Suzuki is planning to set up around one lakh charging stations across India by 2030 in partnership with its dealers and charging point operators. Maruti Suzuki India’s Managing Director and CEO, Hisashi Takeuchi, said that the company will launch many more electric cars in different sizes and segments in the coming years, in line with the vision of its parent company, suzuki Motor corporation. he added that this long term plan also includes building a strong nationwide charging network. The aim is to make electric vehicles more convenient and easily accessible for customers across the country.
Takeuchi said that Maruti Suzuki aims to become a leader in electric mobility in India and as a market leader, it will make it easier for the customers to adopt electric vehicles. teh company will begin selling the e-Vitara in 2026 along with the expansion of its charging network He added that Maruti Suzuki is enetering the electric vehicel space with full preparations, both in terms of products and supporting infrastructure. to support the EV users, the company has already set up more than 2,000 Maruti Suzuki exclusive charging stations at is sales and service outlets across over 1,100 cities in the country.

Maruti Suzuki India’s Managing director and CEO said the company has invested around Rs.250 crore to build charging infrastructure and a dedicated app across its dealer network. he also revealed that the Maruti e-Vitara electric car will offer an impressive driving range of up to 543km on a single full charge. to make electric vehicle ownership more affordable and flexible, Maruti Suzuki will introduce a battery as a service BaaS subscription with the e-Vitara. Under this model, customers will be able to access the battery pack through a flexible payment plan, reducing the upfront cost and making EV adoption easier for the buyers.
