Paneer Lababdar is made from paneer but it is completely different from Matar Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala and Punjabi Paneer. To make its gravy, a mixture is prepared by grinding onion, tomato and cashew nuts and its special feature is that grated paneer is added to it which gives a unique taste to the gravy and it tastes absolutely creamy.
Ingredients for Paneer Lababdar

- Paneer – 250 grams
- Onion – 1 medium finely chopped
- Tomato – 3 finely chopped
- Ginger – 1 teaspoon finely chopped
- Garlic – 5 to 6 cloves finely chopped
- Green chilies – 2 to 3 finely chopped
- Green cardamom – 1 to 2
- Cinnamon – 1 small piece
- Bay leaf – 1/2 piece
- Turmeric powder – 1 tablespoon
- Coriander powder – 2 teaspoons
- Garam masala – 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chili powder – 1/2 teaspoon
- Butter – 3 to 4 teaspoons
- Kasuri methi – 1 to 2 teaspoons
- Sugar – 1 to 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt – as per taste
- Green coriander for garnishing
Method to make Paneer Lababdar

Follow these steps to make Paneer Lababdar –
Step-1
Take a pan and keep it on the gas to heat, after this add chopped onion, tomato, ginger, garlic and cashew nuts in it and add half a cup of water, add salt in it and cover it and cook for some time, when it melts well then take it out in a vessel and let it cool and grind it and make a smooth gravy.
Step-2
Now put butter in the same pan and let it heat, after this add bay leaf, cardamom and cinnamon in it, now add the gravy which you had prepared and add all the spices like red chilli, turmeric, coriander powder and mix them and fry the spices well until oil starts coming out from the edges.
Step-3
When all the spices are roasted and prepared well, then add grated paneer in it and mix it well and prepare the gravy by adding 1/2 to 1 cup water as per requirement.
Step 4:
When your gravy is ready, add the chopped paneer cubes, then sprinkle the chopped fenugreek leaves over the gravy, then sprinkle with the garam masala. Let it cook for a little while longer. Once it’s cooked through, drizzle with cream and butter, and garnish with coriander leaves.
