He shared about his very first meeting with pm modi took place around in 1992-93 at that time, the bhartiya janta party had decided to organize the famous ekta yatra a nationwide journey from kanyakumari to srinagar to spread the messge of unity and integrity. The yatra was led by senior BJP leader dr. murli manohar joshi while the overall responsibility for managing and organizing the entire journey was given to narendra modi. chouhan recalled that even in those early days, modi’s organizational skills, discipline andstrong leadership qualities were clearly visible. he admired that how modi handled the massive responsibility with the full dedication and confidence.
According to shivraj singh chouhan, this first meeting with PM Modi left a deep impression on him and gave him the insight into modi’s commitment to the nation. looking back he said the ekta yatra was a turning point where the first witnessed modi’s exceptional leadership qualities. union agriculture minister shivraj singh chouhan recalled that during those days, terrorism was at its peak in the kashmir valey and hoisiting the tricolor at lal chowk seemed almost impossible. however, on january 26 when the ekta yatra reached srinagar, the determination of lakhs of people and narendra moid’s strong management made it possible. Chouhan said he was part of that historic journey and witnessed modi very closely for the very first time. he admired modi’s passion, determination and unshakable resovle to ensure the tricolor waved proudly.
