New Delhi: Everyone dreams of owning a home. If you are planning to buy a house, you can avail of a home loan from banks. Notably, some banks are currently offering home loans at attractive interest rates, making the process hassle-free. Some banks are offering home loans at rates starting from 7 per cent.
Public sector banks appear to be leading the way in this regard. According to data from Paisabazaar (as of August 26), Bank of Maharashtra and Central Bank of India are offering home loans with starting rates of 7 per cent. At Bank of India, interest rates for home loans start at 7.1 per cent.
Meanwhile, UCO Bank and Union Bank of India have starting rates of 7 per cent. At Canara Bank, the rate starts at 7.25 per cent for loans up to ₹30 lakh, while for loans exceeding ₹75 lakh, it goes down to 7.15 per cent. Additionally, the State Bank of India offers a starting interest rate of 7.2 per cent across all loan slabs.

Private Banks Also Offering Deals
Private sector banks are also providing home loans at low interest rates. South Indian Bank offers the lowest starting rate at 7 per cent. Rates start at 7.84 per cent for Karnataka Bank and 7.55 per cent for ICICI Bank. HDFC Bank’s starting rate is 7.75 per cent, while Axis Bank offers home loans starting at 88 per cent
RBL Bank’s starting rate is per cent. Housing finance companies are also offering home loans at competitive rates; LIC Housing Finance starts at 7.15 per cent, Bajaj Housing Finance at 7.25 per cent, and ICICI Home Finance at 7.57.50 per centt PNB Housing Finance: the starting interest rate for loans up to ₹30 lakh is 7.75%.
Take advantage of the bank offers
It is worth noting that not every customer necessarily qualifies for the lowest interest rate advertised by banks. When determining interest rates, banks evaluate factors such as credit profile, income, employment status, loan amount, and other relevant customer attributes.
Therefore, it is crucial to compare offers from different banks before taking out a loan. One should consider not only the interest rate but also processing fees, other charges, and the total interest payable over the entire loan tenure.
