Holi 2026
Holi 2026: Holi is the festival of colours, celebrated with great pomp and show. This year, Holi is going to be celebrated with a different astronomical and astrological association, and there is a lot of confusion among the people as to why there is a one-day gap between Holika Dahan and Holi of colours. This time, Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 2nd, and the festival of colours will be celebrated on March 4th. Therefore, everyone wants to know why there is a one-day gap.
There is confusion regarding the dates

There is confusion among the people regarding Holi 2026, the festival of Holi is celebrated on the full moon day of Phalgun month and the full moon date will start from the evening of March 2 and will continue till March 3, in which the shadow of Bhadra and lunar eclipse is falling on March 3.
Holi is not celebrated in Bhadra, Holika Dahan is not done and the fourth phase of Bhadra will start from 12:50 on the night of March 2, only after this the auspicious time for Holika Dahan will be formed and there will be a lunar eclipse on March 3, due to which Holi will not be played on March 3 but on March 4.
Lunar eclipse will happen on 3rd March

Holika Dahan in Holi 2026 is on 2nd and after this there will be lunar eclipse on 3rd March from 5:59 pm to 6:45 pm, this lunar eclipse will be visible in India also, hence playing with colours is considered prohibited during the Sutak period and no auspicious work is done, due to this the festival of colours will not be celebrated on 3rd but it will be celebrated with great pomp on 4th March.
When will Holika Dahan take place?

Holika Dahan in Holi 2026 will be done on March 2 this year, as per astrology as well as some calendars, considering the effect of Bhadra, Holika Dahan will be celebrated on March 2, because the full moon date of Falgun Shukla Paksha will start from 5:18 pm on March 2 and the shadow of Bhadra will also remain with it and the full moon date will be 4:33 pm on March 3, whereas for Holika Dahan, both the full moon date and the correct time of the night are necessary, due to this Holika Dahan will be done on March 2.
Holi will be played on March 4
Holi, the festival of colors, will be celebrated on March 4 in 2026, although this time there is a lot of change in the dates, but it has become completely clear that Holi of colors will be played on March 4, 2026, i.e. Wednesday, because there will be the effect of lunar eclipse on March 3 and playing Holi on the next day of Sutak period will be considered auspicious.
