Hair Care
Hair fall is a common concern during the summer months. The combination of heat, humidity, sweat, and dust can weaken hair roots and cause excessive shedding. While seasonal hair fall is normal to some extent, taking care of your scalp and hair using simple home remedies can significantly reduce the damage. Here are some effective home tips to help control hair fall during the summer.

1. Keep Your Scalp Clean
Sweat and dust build-up can clog pores and weaken hair roots. Wash your hair 2–3 times a week with a mild, sulfate-free shampoo to keep the scalp clean. Avoid using hot water, as it can dry out your scalp and lead to more breakage.

2. Use Coconut or Almond Oil
Regular oiling nourishes the scalp, improves blood circulation, and strengthens the hair shaft. Warm coconut or almond oil slightly and massage it into your scalp twice a week. Leave it on for a few hours or overnight before washing it off.

3. Apply Aloe Vera Gel
Aloe vera has natural enzymes that promote hair growth and soothe an irritated scalp. Extract fresh aloe vera gel and apply it directly to your scalp. Leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing. This also helps control dandruff, which can worsen hair fall.

4. Stay Hydrated
Dehydration can dry out your hair and scalp, leading to hair fall. Drink plenty of water throughout the day at least 8 to 10 glasses, to keep your body and hair well-hydrated. Adding fruits with high water content like watermelon and cucumber also helps.

5. Avoid Heat Styling Tools
Frequent use of blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons can weaken hair and lead to split ends. During summer, let your hair air-dry and avoid heat styling whenever possible to minimize breakage and thinning.

6. Apply Onion Juice
Onion juice is rich in sulfur, which boosts collagen production and helps reduce hair fall. Blend one onion, strain the juice, and apply it to your scalp. Leave it on for 20–30 minutes, then wash with a mild shampoo. Use this remedy once or twice a week.

7. Use a Homemade Hair Mask
Make a simple hair mask using yogurt, honey, and banana. This combination nourishes the scalp, reduces dryness, and strengthens hair strands. Apply the mask once a week for visible results.
A balanced diet rich in protein, iron, and vitamins also plays a crucial role in hair health. Include leafy greens, eggs, nuts, and legumes in your meals. With consistent care and a few natural remedies, you can keep hair fall under control even during the harsh summer months.
