New Delhi: Delhi’s Jantar Mantar has currently become a hub of protests, with thousands of students gathered to press for their demands. Protesting under the CJP banner, the students demand that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resign first to take accountability for the NEET paper leak, followed by the implementation of stricter rules and regulations.

Meanwhile, the CJP and opposition political parties continue to attack the central government. Amidst this, Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and MP from Raebareli, has once again targeted the Modi government, making a significant statement regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rahul Gandhi Attacks the Central Government

On Saturday, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi stated that the students have three demands that cannot be ignored under any circumstances. He noted that the first demand is the removal of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from his post. The second demand is that those responsible for the lathi-charge on students be punished. The third demand is for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apologise to the students.

Rahul Gandhi emphasised that he did not formulate these demands himself; rather, they are being raised by students across the country. He mentioned reports indicating that the government is considering moving Dharmendra Pradhan from the Ministry of Education to another ministry. Rahul Gandhi termed this move completely wrong, stating it would not be accepted at any cost.

According to Rahul Gandhi, Dharmendra Pradhan has become the face of corruption and failure, having harmed the students’ future. He argued that, for this reason, Pradhan should be removed from his post entirely rather than merely having his ministry changed.

What Rahul Gandhi Said About the Police Lathi-Charge

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also questioned the Delhi Police’s lathi-charge. He referred to an injured female student who sustained serious injuries. He also mentioned meeting a student the previous day who had been hit in the eye by a pellet and might never regain his vision.

Rahul Gandhi stated that thousands of students were brutally beaten with batons; many suffered head injuries and pellet wounds. He further stated that everyone involved in carrying out and organising this action must be held accountable and punished.

Questions raised regarding PM Narendra Modi’s video

He made a significant point while targeting PM Narendra Modi. He remarked that Modi is talking about suggestions in his video, whereas the students are demanding direct action, not merely offering suggestions. He asserted that the Prime Minister must acknowledge that students were beaten, assaulted, and humiliated, and should apologise for this.
