Ingredients for Gajar ka halwa

To make Gajar ka halwa, you will need these ingredients –
- Red carrot – 1 kg
- Fresh desi ghee – 100 to 150 grams
- Full cream milk – 1.5 liters
- Khoya (mawa) – 200 grams
- Sugar – 200 grams
- Cardamom powder – one teaspoon
- Dry fruits – Cashews, almonds, pistachios, raisins
Method of Gajar ka Halwa

- To make Gajar ka Halwa, first of all wash the carrots thoroughly and peel them and grate them coarsely. Keep in mind not to grate the carrots too finely, keep it slightly coarse.
- Now take a heavy bottom pan and place it on the gas, now add some ghee in it and put grated carrot on it and cook it on medium flame while stirring it for some time and now add milk in it and cook the milk and carrot well until the milk is cooked completely.
- Now when it is cooked well with milk, then add pure desi ghee in it and fry it well with ghee for some time, until your carrot gets cooked well and turns red and the ghee does not leave the sides.
- Now add sugar as per your taste for sweetness and then cook it for some time and after this add khoya and cardamom powder in it and after this cook it for another 3 to 5 minutes.
- Now your carrot halwa is completely ready to eat. Put it in a serving bowl and pour one spoon of desi ghee on it and garnish it with chopped dry fruits and serve it nicely.
