The Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of North Wayanad Martin Lowell, has raised doubts about the recent wildfire in Kambamala. In a video, he stated the fire did not appear to be a natural occurrence. According to him, someone might have intentionally set the fire, as it broke out in grasslands deep inside the forest—an area where such fires do not usually start on their own. He further noted that the fire incidents happened around the same time when the region was facing issues with a tiger. This has led to suspicions that the fire may have been deliberately started. as these incidents are happening frequently now the authorities are taking the strict actions towards it. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire and are taking necessary measures to prevent further incidents.
