Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme: The government has started many schemes for the citizens so that they get financial assistance, like the central government, the state government also keeps running many schemes so that all the citizens of the country get its benefits. Most of the class of our country is agriculturist and earns their living by farming, so the government also runs many schemes for the farmers from which they benefit.
One such Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme is being run by the Uttar Pradesh government for the farmers of its state, in which if the farmer dies due to any accident or he becomes completely disabled, then his family is given financial assistance of up to ₹ 500000, apart from this, other benefits and pension will also be given to the widowed mother apart from the assistance amount.
What is Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme?
This scheme is a scheme of the Uttar Pradesh government which has been started keeping in mind the interests of the farmers. Under this scheme, if any farmer is a victim of an accident during farming or becomes a victim of any natural disaster while farming, then the government gives financial assistance of ₹ 5 lakh to his family members. Under this scheme, ₹ 5 lakh will be given to the family members of the farmers who die, lose both hands and legs or lose one hand and one leg.
Purpose of Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme
The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the families of farmers. Those families whose livelihood is dependent on farming and if their head becomes a victim of an accident while farming, then the government strengthens their livelihood by giving financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to their family members, so that they remain financially strong.
Benefits of Farmer Accident Welfare Scheme
- Under this scheme, farmers are given Rs 5 lakh as financial assistance if they become victim of an accident.
- In this, ₹500000 will be given to farmers if they lose both hands and both legs.
- ₹500000 will be given to farmers if they lose one hand and one leg.
- In case of one leg and one hand of the farmers becoming disabled, assistance amounting to Rs 2 to 3 lakh will be given.
- In case of more than 25% and less than 50% disability, assistance amounting to Rs 1 – 2 lakh will be given.
- In this, if the farmers lose one eye due to an accident, assistance of Rs 5 lakh will be given.

Under the Chief Minister Krishak Accident Welfare Scheme, if a farmer suffers any kind of loss due to electric shock, lightning strike, animal bite, landslide, falling of tree, terrorist attack, fight, accident, robbery, burning in fire, electric shock, being swept away in flood, the government will provide compensation for it.
