This is a dish that is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. If you’re looking to make something tasty and healthy for lunch or dinner, you can try making Moong Dal Appe, which are also commonly known as kachori in simple language. These appe are made with very little oil, turn out extremely flavorful, and are packed with protein. Let’s learn how to make them with this easy step-by-step recipe.

All Ingredients
To make Moong Dal Kachori, you will need:
- 1 cup yellow moong dal
- 1 green chili
- A few curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
- Salt to taste
- A little cumin (jeera)
- Chopped coriander leaves
- A little curd (yogurt) – to make the dish softer
- Optional: a bit of grated carrot and finely chopped capsicum – to enhance both taste and nutrition
Cooking Method

First, take the moong dal and soak it for 2 to 3 hours.
After soaking, drain the water and transfer the dal into a mixer/grinder.
Along with the dal, add ginger, green chili, and a little curd, and grind it into a thick and smooth paste.
Make sure the paste is neither too thick nor too thin.
Now add salt, cumin, chopped coriander, onion, and other veggies into the paste and mix everything well.
Take a non-stick pan, pour a little oil, and place it on the stove to heat.
Once the pan is hot, pour spoonfuls of the batter, cover the pan, and let it cook on low flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
When the bottom turns golden brown, flip the appe and cook the other side until it is also lightly golden.
And that’s it! Your healthy and delicious dish is ready. You can enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, and share it with your family and friends.
