New Delhi: Protesters from the CJP (Cockroach Janata Party) remain camped at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue. The protesters remain adamant on their demands, including the Education Minister’s resignation. Amidst growing outrage and student discontent, PM Narendra Modi promised strict punishment for those responsible for the paper leak and the establishment of fast-track courts.
However, despite PM Modi’s statement promising strict action, the CJP remains firm in its stance. The CJP and opposition parties have declared that nothing short of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is acceptable to them.
CJP Reiterates Demand for Education Minister’s Resignation
On Thursday, PM Narendra Modi announced that the guilty would face severe punishment and that fast-track courts would be set up for this purpose. Despite his statement, the protesting CJP appears to be sticking to its position. The group has reiterated its demand for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Abhijit Deepke, a representative of the CJP, made a significant statement, taking a dig at Pradhan via PM Modi’s social media. Deepke remarked that the “roads to Jantar Mantar are open,” referencing the protest site in response to the Central Government’s stance.
Rahul Gandhi Targets PM Modi
Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched an attack on PM Narendra Modi. He stated that the greatest harm is being inflicted upon the future of the nation’s youth. He accused the government not only of allowing the education system to be ruined through total control but also of actively abetting this destruction, adding that those responsible have been shielded.
Rahul Gandhi outlined the students’ demands clearly: the removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan from office, an apology to the students, and action against those who perpetrated violence against them. Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary in-charge of Communications, Jairam Ramesh, also criticised PM Modi, stating that the Prime Minister lacks the courage to stand up in Parliament and engage in a serious debate.

Samajwadi Party Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav questioned how many paper leaks have occurred during the BJP’s tenure and against how many individuals action has been taken. So far, no one has been punished. He stated that the government is in power and the public demands answers from it. The students protesting here have not been brought in on hire; this approach is unacceptable. Who were the individuals in plainclothes raining lathi blows on the students?
