Recently, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called for an emergency meeting in the national capital, Delhi, Over the rising threat of dengue. According to the reports, during the meeting, discussions were held on measures to prevent dengue, malaria and chikungunya. The chief minister Rekha Gupta has ordered that fogging should begin soon. She also directed that in areas where dengue mosquitoes or their larvae are found, two warnings should be issued before any fines are imposed.
As per the details, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered that the fogging drive be started ahead of the schedule. So far, fogging has been carried out in 5lakh homes. In the Meeting, it was informed that mosquito larvae were found in a total of 71,000 houses, and they have been destroyed. As part of biological control, larvivorous fish were released at 279 ;locations. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized that defeating dengue is not possible without public participation. She also stressed the need to ensure there is no shortage of medicines or equipment. According to the medical reports, a total number of 246 cases of dengue have been reported in Delhi. Health experts have raised concerns, pointing out that the early arrival of the monsoon and intermittent rainfall have created favorable conditions for mosquito breeding have been intensified.
