According to the recent reports, During Navratri there is a growing demand to close the non-veg shops in delhi. Jangpura MLA tarvinder singh marwah has written letter to chief minister rekha gupta, urging action on this matter. meanwhile, councillor ramkishore sharma will appeal to shopkeepers in sharukhpur to keep the raw and cooked non-veg shops closed from september 22 to october 2. In Addition, shakur basti MLA Karnail singh has also written to the regional managers of domino’s, KFC, and Mcdonald’s reqesting them to stop the sale of non veg items at thier outlets during the fesive period to maintain the sancity of navratri.
Delhi Municipal corporation shahdra south zone chairman, ramkishore sharma has appealed to the public regarding the closure of non veg shops duing the navratri. in his statement, sharma addressed peope by saying that the sanatan samman raksha samiti will organize a gathering on sunday, spetember 21 2025 at 4:00 PM. the meeting point will be at the entrance of shakurpur market near metro pillar No.51 on vikas marg. from there participants will collectively appeal to raw and cooked meat as well as egg sellers. to keep their shops closed from september 22 to october 2 2025. Sharma urged all sanatani supporters to join in large numbers to make the appeal successful. he also emphasized that closing meat shops during the navratri will help to maintain the sanctity and spiritual atmosphere of the festival in shakurpur. the initiative reflects a strong cultural sentiment,, encouraging community participation in preserving the religious traditions.
