Step 1
Start by washing the spinach thoroughly to remove any bacteria and dirt. After washing, soak the spinach leaves in ice-cold water for a while. Then, take the spinach leaves out of the ice water and blend them into a smooth paste.
Step 2
Next, prepare the Palak Paneer gravy. To do this, first, heat a non-stick pan on the gas stove. Add ghee or oil to the pan. Once the oil heats up, add the cumin seeds and chopped onions. Sauté the onions until they turn light brown.
Step 3
Once the onions turn light brown, add the ginger, garlic, and green chilies to the pan. Cook this mixture for about 10 minutes until it is well cooked.
Step 4
Now, add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and garam masala to the mixture and cook it for a few more minutes until the tomatoes soften.
Step 5
Add the spinach paste to the cooked masala mixture. Stir well and let it cook for 15 minutes on medium heat.
Step 6
In a separate pan, heat some oil or ghee. Fry the cubed paneer pieces until they turn light brown on both sides.
Step 7
Once the paneer is fried, add it to the spinach gravy. Let the dish cook for another 5 minutes so the flavors mix well.

Your Palak Paneer is now ready! You can enjoy it with roti, naan, or steamed rice.
