Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjivni Yojana
Arvind Kejriwal of the Aam Aadmi Party government in the capital Delhi has announced to start registration for Delhi Mahila Samman Yojna and Sanjivni Yojna from today, in which citizens living in Delhi can apply. The Mahila Samman Yojna will benefit 40 lakh women living in Delhi, while the Sanjivni Yojna will benefit 15 lakh senior citizens.
What is Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjivni Yojana?
Mahila Samman Yojana is being run by the Delhi government. Under this scheme, women who are 18 years of age will be given ₹1000 per month as financial assistance. Kejriwal had announced that if his party wins the upcoming assembly elections, this amount will be increased to ₹2100.
Sanjivni Yojana is also a scheme being run by the Delhi government in which free treatment is given to the elderly above 60 years of age. 10 to 15 lakh senior citizens get the benefit of this so that those elderly who cannot get their treatment done due to financial constraints can get themselves treated by taking the facility of free treatment.
Registration starts from December 23
Registration for Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjivni Yojana will begin from December 23, under which women and the elderly can register themselves. Kejriwal announced that you will not need to go anywhere to register for this, our workers will go door-to-door, collect your documents and get you registered for this scheme.
Chief Minister Kejriwal has also appealed to the people to keep their voter ID cards ready and people should check their voter ID to see if their vote has been cancelled and he also said that if your vote has been cancelled then he will get it added back and people need not worry about this, Delhi Aam Aadmi Party workers will go door-to-door and complete this process.
Who will get the benefit of this scheme?
The residents of Delhi will get the benefit of Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjivni Yojana, in which women above 18 years of age will get the benefit under Mahila Samman Yojana, whereas senior citizens above 60 years of age will get the benefit under Sanjivni Yojana. To avail the benefit of this scheme, it is necessary to have a Voter ID card.
Who will not get the benefit of this scheme?
Only residents of Delhi will get the benefit of Delhi Mahila Samman Yojana and Sanjivni Yojana, residents of other states will not be given its benefit. Women who pay income tax will not get the benefit of this scheme. Under this scheme, women who have held the post of government employee, MP or MLA or councilor will not get the benefit of this scheme.
