According to the recent reports, Delhi’s Education Minister Ashish Sood said that the Delhi government will launch a one-month cleanliness campaign from 1st of august. As per the reports, there will be active participation from the schools, community groups and the resident welfare associations. According to a statement, a high level meeting led by ashish sood was held on Friday at the secretariat to review preparations for this major campaign. Ashish Sood, who is also the Minister of urban development, said the campaign is being launched in response to prime  minister Narendra Modi’s call. He added that the central government has given the delhi government the responsibility to ensure visible and effective cleanliness across the city. He said the success of this campaign is a shared responsibility and its impact should be clearly seen at the ground level.

Schools will be Joining the cleanliness drive

The meeting was attended by the chief secretary and senior officials from the municipal corporation of delhi, new delhi Municipal council, the health and family welfare department, education department, it department, revenue department, and all district magistrates. Ashish sood instructed the officials to increase awareness activities in unauthorized colonies, slum areas and underdeveloped regions to make sure the campaign reaches every corner of the capital. He also urged resident welfare associations RWAs community groups and local residents to actively take part in the campaign. He said these groups should be encouraged to keep their neighborhoods clean.

As per the reports, Minister Directed the education secretary to involve both the government and the private schools in the campaign. He said that cleanliness activities should go beyond school and campuses and also take place in parks, markets, religious place and roads. Ashish sood, said that the student should be encouraged to act as the cleanliness ambassadors and motivate their families to take part in the campaign. Where he added that during the first two day of the campaign, all government offices must carry out the cleanliness drives on their premises. The Statement also mentioned that the urban development department and the MCD have been asked to launch a dedicated portal for the campaign. Through this portal, citizens and RWA’s will be able to register and upload the photos and videos of the cleaned areas or spots that need attention. This can be really helpful in this cleanliness campaign. step taken by the delhi government will help the capital to achieve a better living standard.
