Delhi Flood Alert: All 18 gates of Hathinikund Barrage located in Yamunanagar, Haryana have been opened and 1.78 lakh cusecs of water has been released due to which the flow of water in the Yamuna river is continuously increasing and now due to this, the problem of flood may arise in Delhi and Haryana. The government has issued an advisory for this and has appealed to the people living in low-lying areas to move to safer places. Let us tell you that the water released from Hathinikund Barrage can reach Delhi in about 48 to 50 hours and tonight the water level of Yamuna river can increase rapidly due to which there may be a flood in Delhi.
The government has appealed to the people to be alert

the government has issued Delhi Flood Alert and has appealed to the people to be alert and cautious because on August 17, 2025, at around 1:00 pm, 1.78 lakh cusecs of water has been released from Hathinikund Barrage, it may take about 48 to 50 hours to reach Delhi, according to this, on August 19, around 1 to 2:00 pm, its water level in Delhi may rise above the danger mark and Delhi may be flooded, for this the government has appealed to the people living in the low-lying areas to be cautious and asked to move to safer areas.
Water released from Haryana’s Hathinikund Barrage

In Delhi Flood Alert, all 18 gates of Haryana’s Hathinikund Barrage have been opened and 1.78 lakh cusecs of water has been released; this water is rapidly moving towards Delhi and it will reach Delhi on August 19 around 2:00 PM, due to which the water level of Yamuna in Delhi will rise above 206 meters.
Floods may occur in these areas

In Delhi Flood Alert, there is a danger of floods in many low-lying areas due to the water released from Hathinikund Barrage, due to which there is a possibility of water entering many low-lying areas including Yamunanagar, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat of Haryana, due to which flood situation can arise. Along with this, this water will reach the country’s capital Delhi within 48 to 50 hours and there may be a flood in Delhi as well. As expected, the water level of Yamuna at Delhi Railway Bridge will go above 206 meters and flood situation will arise in Delhi.
The administration has made all the preparations to deal with this situation and all the concerned agencies have been instructed to take necessary steps to deal with the flood. The administration is constantly monitoring the situation so that necessary steps can be taken when the water level rises.
